Okay, whatever this may seem like, let me inform you beforehand, that I am not a 'Bond' fan..
I am a 'Sailor' (And if you know what I mean then, this will make sense to you, I guess.)
Sam Smith is singing for the new and upcoming Spectre, and I am not just saying this, simply because I am a fan of his, but because, his song is genuinely, and truly amazing.
I honestly do feel, if Lana sang instead of him, then I would still love it all the same, cause she has a spectacular voice herself, but since the decision was made and Sam has sung and it's all over with, then there shouldn't be a problem right?
But, apparently, there is a problem, and that problem is that, Sam Smith sang for a Bond movie.
Sam Smith, a man, has sung, for a James Bond movie. Am I repeating myself? I suppose I'm just extremely frustrated here.. And he replaced Lana Del Ray, which by all means is completely "illogical".
I was reading some of the comments on the song, and I am not making judgements drawn from my own personal opinions, but a lot of people were being rude, and criticising about his song.
First of all, why can't people see this as a remarkable change in the Bond age?
People claim to be "open" to all kinds of people, they claim "no racism" or "no sexism" or "no sexuality discrimination" or whatever but this itself is discriminating. Saying, an obviously talented singer is the reason for the movie to turn out a fail?
For your information, the movie revolves around a story, and not a song, and not, in fact this song.
And also, these people make comments like, his song sounds more like it's out of some chickflick and it's actually in the mildest way believeable, if you hadn't the previous knowledge that it was originally sung for a Bond movie.
And maybe it is, but in my opinion, it still has the classy, sultry effect every other Bond song has, and if no one else can appreciate it then I suppose you have a very limited taste in music, or in open-mindedness at least because in all honesty, his vocals are unique, and unlike most male singers these days, and that is pretty special.
Well, I am not one to speak as I haven't much knowledge on music composing and sorts but I love music, and I felt the desire to speak on the topic, as it not only hurt my sentiments regarding my favourite singer, but also because people seem to completely shut out the fact that there have been mistakes made and reconciled and its really not like this is a mistake, and let's just see the movie first.
That's all, sorry for being a bore, bye.
P.s - I am totally just making my thoughts known on the subject, I dont mean to hurt any sentiments, if I have I apologise, truly, I did not mean it.
